Seraphic Fire is proud to announce that its Artistic Director and Founder, Patrick Dupre Quigley, has been named Artistic Director Designate of Opera Lafayette, effective immediately. Quigley will succeed Opera Lafayette's founder Ryan Brown as Artistic Director beginning in the 2025-2026 season and will continue to serve as Seraphic Fire’s Artistic Director.
“To immediately address any fears, this does not mean Patrick will be leaving Seraphic Fire!” said Seraphic Fire Treasurer Bob Brinker and Secretary Diane Ashley. “On the contrary, this is a step that all great conductors take in their careers, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. We look forward to supporting Patrick as he embarks on this exciting new opportunity and exploring opportunities to partner with Opera Lafayette.”
Seraphic Fire is currently in the final stages of the national search for its next Executive Director, led by the DeVos Institute of Arts Management at the University of Maryland. In addition to the executive search, DeVos Institute Chairman Michael M. Kaiser and Associate Consultant Matthew Kacergis are currently providing interim leadership for the 20-year-old Miami organization.
