Inside Seraphic Fire

Closing Out 2025 with Gratitude, Music, and Momentum

Conductor Patrick Quigley leads Seraphic Fire singers and instrumentalists in a critically acclaimed performance of Bach's Six Motets.

As we reach the final days of 2025, we pause to reflect on what has been one of the most meaningful and successful years in Seraphic Fire’s history. This year was defined by artistic excellence, growing audiences, expanded education programs, and deepened community connection across South Florida. None of it would have been possible without the unwavering support of our patrons, subscribers, donors, and community partners.

From powerful concert experiences in Miami, Coral Gables, Boca Raton, Ft. Lauderdale, and Naples to transformative youth music education reaching thousands of students, Seraphic Fire continued to fulfill its mission at the highest level. Every standing ovation, every student performance, and every full house was made possible by people who believe in the importance of live classical music in Miami and beyond.

A Year of Recognition and Milestones

In 2025, Seraphic Fire reached an extraordinary milestone when we were named the Miami-Dade Favorites Winner for Favorite Nonprofit by the Miami Herald. In a county home to more than 10,000 nonprofit organizations, this recognition reflects the deep value our community places on the arts and on the role Seraphic Fire plays in South Florida’s cultural life. We are proud to be Florida’s only GRAMMY-nominated professional vocal ensemble, and we are even prouder to share this honor with the supporters who helped make it possible.

This recognition affirmed what we see every day. World-class choral music matters. Arts education changes lives. And when a community rallies behind an organization, incredible things can happen.

National Acclaim for Artistic Excellence

One of the year’s most meaningful acknowledgments came from the South Florida Classical Review, where critics Lawrence Budmen and David Fleshler named Seraphic Fire’s performance of Bach’s Six Motets as the number two selection in their Top Ten Performances of 2025.

In their review, they wrote that Johann Sebastian Bach’s Motets are among his most original and adventurous creations and have occupied a central place in Patrick Dupre Quigley’s tenure as Artistic Director of Seraphic Fire. They praised the performance as larger in scale, vocally sonorous, voluminous, and richer in corporate tone than previous efforts, highlighting the ensemble’s interpretive depth and careful attention to contrasts of dynamics and timbres. They concluded that Bach has been Quigley’s musical high priest and that it was entirely fitting for him to offer some of this music in one of his final concerts leading Seraphic Fire.

Recognition like this speaks to the artistry, discipline, and heart that define Seraphic Fire. It also reflects the trust our audiences place in us to deliver exceptional musical experiences season after season.

Looking Ahead and Giving Thanks

As we close out the year, we do so with gratitude and optimism. Seraphic Fire enters the new year strong, inspired, and deeply thankful for the community that surrounds us.
