A Community Recognition
Seraphic Fire is proud to share that we were nominated for the Miami Herald Reader’s Choice Award for Best Nonprofit. Of the more than 10,000 nonprofit organizations in Miami, Seraphic Fire was recognized among your favorites for the “Best Of” in everything that makes Miami-Dade County special. As one of the few arts organizations nominated, this recognition feels especially meaningful. Voting closed on September 5, and the results will be announced on December 14, 2025 at MiamiDadeFavorites.com and in the Miami-Dade Favorites Winners print magazine.
This nomination is a testament to the support of our patrons and the dedication of our community. Every vote cast on our behalf reflects the belief in the power of world-class choral music in South Florida. We are deeply grateful to everyone who stood with us and lifted Seraphic Fire into this spotlight.
“We are honored that Seraphic Fire was nominated as one of Miami’s favorite nonprofits,” said Executive Director Dr. Danny M. Yanez, CFRE. “The arts are a vital part of the cultural fabric of Miami-Dade, and this recognition shows how much our community values them. Through our concerts and our youth music education programs, we are proud to bring people together and help shape the next generation of musicians and leaders.”
Why Seraphic Fire Stands Out
Being recognized as one of the best nonprofits in South Florida is about more than our concerts. At the heart of Seraphic Fire’s mission is our youth music education work. Seraphic Fire presents the highest quality performances of historically significant and underperformed music and advances art through the professional development, refinement, and documentation of our musicians' talents while promoting community connectivity through educational programs.
Through initiatives like the Professional Choral Institute and partnerships with schools across Miami-Dade and Broward counties, we introduce students to the artistry and discipline of professional choral performance. These programs build confidence, foster teamwork, and inspire young musicians to dream big.
Parents, teachers, and students often tell us how transformative these experiences are. Many of our alumni go on to study music at top universities, while others carry the lessons of focus and collaboration into every part of their lives. That ripple effect is what makes Seraphic Fire one of the best nonprofits in South Florida.
Building the Next Generation of Musicians
Seraphic Fire’s recognition as one of Miami’s favorite nonprofits also reflects our commitment to the future of classical music in South Florida. Our education programs reach hundreds of young people each year, from elementary school classrooms to advanced high school students in the Professional Choral Institute, to pre-professional singers in the Ensemble Artist Program. These programs are designed not only to teach music but also to build discipline, collaboration, and creativity.
When young singers step into rehearsals with our GRAMMY-nominated professional vocal ensemble, they see what is possible when passion meets excellence. Alumni of these programs often credit Seraphic Fire with sparking their lifelong love of music. Some pursue careers in the arts, while others carry the lessons of teamwork and confidence into every part of their lives. This lasting impact is part of what makes Seraphic Fire one of the best nonprofits in Miami-Dade.
The Best Professional Choir in Miami
At the same time, Seraphic Fire is proud to be Florida’s only GRAMMY-nominated professional vocal ensemble. Time and again, audiences describe us as the best choir in Miami, a group that brings unparalleled artistry to stages across the region. Each season, we perform in acoustically remarkable spaces, from the soaring beauty of Church of the Little Flower in Coral Gables to the welcoming intimacy of Moorings Presbyterian in Naples. These performances create moments of connection that stay with audiences long after the final note.
Our 2025–26 season begins next month on Thursday, October 9, at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Miami. This opening concert launches a season filled with classical music in South Florida that is both inspiring and unforgettable. Patrons in Coral Gables, Boca Raton, Naples, and Ft. Lauderdale can also look forward to performances in their communities, each one crafted to highlight the artistry of our professional vocal ensemble.
Looking Ahead
Being nominated as one of Miami’s favorite nonprofits highlights the growing recognition of Seraphic Fire’s work on and off the stage. With the support of our audience, we will continue to celebrate the best of live music in Miami and beyond. We thank everyone who voted for us and invite you to be part of our story this season.
