Praised for her ability to produce “monumental” work (New Classic LA), conductor and soprano Maura Tuffy has established herself as a dynamic artist. Recent highlights include guest conducting with Beth Morrison Projects and Bach Vespers at Holy Trinity Lutheran NYC, as well as being named a finalist in the Colorado Bach Ensemble Young Artist Competition. In March 2026, she will serve as Assistant Conductor for the world premiere of Derrick Skye’s opera Gilgamesh.
Maura has appeared with some of the nation’s premiere vocal ensembles including the Los Angeles Master Chorale, Conspirare, Yale Choral Artists, Bach Collegium San Diego, and Ensemble Altera. She holds master’s degrees in Choral Conducting from the Yale School of Music and bachelor’s degrees in Vocal Arts and Choral Music from the USC Thornton School of Music.
