Marc Magellan is a Miami native, currently serving as a Humanities professor at Miami Dade College (MDC). A local musician proficient in rock, jazz, folk, pop, and world music, he embodies the “jack of many trades” philosophy through his diverse experiences.
Dr. Magellan’s musical journey began in Miami-Dade County public schools, leading to a Bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from the University of Miami in Music, Business, and Marketing. After a brief period in finance, he earned a Master’s degree in Music Theory from Florida State University, with specializations from Florida International University in Art History and Literature. Beyond music he enjoys salsa dancing, paddle boarding, and visiting the awe-inspiring edifices and museums of Europe, which is, coincidentally, where he learned what the word “edifice” means.
