Emi Ostrum

Tenafly, NJ

Emi Ostrom is an oboe player and vocalist originally from Columbia, Maryland. A graduate of Juilliard’s Historical Performance Program, she is the recipient of a Juilliard Career Advancement Grant, a fellowship from The English Concert in America, and a Music Advancement Program fellowship. She can be heard playing historical oboes and recorders around the country with acclaimed ensembles including Seraphic Fire, ARTEK, Clarion, Holy Trinity Bach Vespers, Early Music New York, and Kollective366. Ostrom, a mezzo-soprano, has recently sung with ARTEK, St. James Compostela Choir and the Lux Choir in Princeton. An avid educator, she is the Chair of Creative Musicianship and Composition at the Thurnauer School of Music, where she teaches music theory and composition classes, and a summer faculty member at the Walden School where she teaches several courses and performs with members of the International Contemporary Ensemble.
