Elijah McCormack

Elijah McCormack, male soprano, has garnered praise for his “fresh timbre” (South Florida Classical Review) and “cool control and warmth of tone” (Washington Post). He performs as both a soloist and choral artist with organizations such as Seraphic Fire, The Crossing, Washington Bach Consort, Ensemble Altera, Ars Lyrica Houston, Dallas Bach Society, ANIMA Early Music, Staunton Music Festival, and American Bach Soloists.

He received first prize and audience favorite in the 11th annual Handel Aria Competition in 2024, and second place in the Oratorio Society of New York’s Lyndon Woodside Solo Competition in 2023. Opera credits include IN Series’s Poppea (Cupid/Valletto) and The Return of Ulysses (Telemachus); Haymarket Opera’s L’incoronazione di Poppea (Amore/Valletto); IlluminArts Miami’s The Turn of the Crew (Miles); and Lowell House Opera’s world premiere of NIGHTTOWN (Bell[x] Cohen). He received his Master’s degree in Historical Performance at Indiana University, where he studied with Steven Rickards.
