Brett Epperson

Brett D. Epperson maintains an eclectic musical career as a conductor, vocalist, clinician, and composer. He is in his first year as Assistant Professor of Music - Choral Conducting at the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music in Stockton, California. At Pacific, Epperson directs the University Chorus and Pacific Singers and teaches coursework in conducting, voice, and educational methods. In 2026, Epperson will also assume the role of Artistic Director of the Sacramento Master Singers.

While primarily a conductor and educator, Epperson has maintained an active performance career as a vocalist. He has performed with award-winning choral organizations including sounding light (Michigan), Resonance (Omaha, Nebraska) The South Dakota Chorale, the Omaha Chamber Singers, Festival Singers of Florida, the Abendmusik Chamber Chorus (Lincoln, Nebraska), and Spoleto Festival USA (Charleston, SC). As a soloist, Epperson has performed with Opera Omaha and been a featured soloist in choral-orchestral works and oratorios with Orchestra Iowa, Orchestra Omaha, The Omaha Symphonic Chorus, Abendmusik (Lincoln), the Florida State University Chamber Choir, the Florida State University Symphony Orchestra, and the Axtell Oratorio Society.

Epperson is grateful for his voice teachers David Judisch (Luther College) and David Okerlund (Florida State University) and accompanist-coach Jessica Paul (Luther College).

Epperson earned a Bachelor of Arts from Luther College (Decorah, IA), a Master of Music from Michigan State University, and the Doctor of Philosophy degree from Florida State University.
