4th Season with Seraphic Fire

Blake Beckemeyer, tenor, specializes in the performance practice of Bach and of Latin American baroque music. He has sang with ensembles throughout the United States including Seraphic Fire, True Concord, Washington Bach Consort, The Thirteen, and the Bloomington Bach Cantata Project, among others. He is a founding member of the pioneering chamber ensemble Tonos del Sur, which specializes in the modern premieres of Santiago Billoni’s music and the performance of indigenous-language music prevalent in the Baroque period in Central and South America. Beckemeyer has also been a part of 5 CD releases, spanning Deutsche Harmonia Mundi release of Alexander’s Feast which was nominated for 8 Opus Klassik, to The Thirteen’s recent release of the Monteverdi Vespers and Seraphic Fire’s latest Christmas album. While not singing, Beckemeyer works as a software engineer in the federal and defense mission.
