Praised as a “vocally fierce” and “deep-toned” performer (South Florida Classical Review), mezzo-soprano Alexandra (Alex) Colaizzi brings a compelling blend of warmth and versatility to audiences throughout the United States.
Dr. Colaizzi’s career features collaborations with premiere professional choral ensembles: GRAMMY®-nominated Seraphic Fire, the Santa Fe Desert Chorale, Vocal Arts Ensemble Cincinnati, among others. She has appeared as soloist with GRAMMY®-award winning vocal band Roomful of Teeth, the Messiah Festival at Bethany College, Seicento Baroque Ensemble, and The Choral Arts Society of Washington D.C. at The Kennedy Center. Recent recordings include The Apple Tree (Seraphic Fire, 2023) and All Without Words: Variations Inspired by Loren (Justin Morell, 2021). Dr. Colaizzi presents research and master classes around the United States and appears as guest lecturer for special topics in vocal and choral music. She currently serves on the voice faculties of University of Miami and Miami Dade College.
